A co-op or cooperative is a business voluntarily owned and controlled by the people who use it - its owners. In cooperatives, people work together for their shared economic benefit. Cooperative enterprises help address market failure, overcome historic barriers to development, and promote community growth. By adding the Allendale Corner Store Co-op into the community, we hope to strengthen community through local healthy food, local creations, and community ownership.
